Surfs Edge is situated approximately 250 yards from the beach at Polzeath, along a quiet unmade road. The village is well served by mini-markets, a post office, newsagent and surfing/clothes shops. There is also a couple of cafes, an ice-cream shop and take-away food stores.
There are two restaurants and three pubs within a walk of Surfs Edge.
The beach is sandy, wide and flat and is enjoyed by families. The Life Savers “Surf Patrol” is active on the beach during the day throughout summer. Surfing is well catered for here with equipment and lessons available most of the year round. Long boards and body/boogie boards share the beach (flagged into sections by the patrol, when active). Kyacks and surf skis are also seen. The adventure sport of Coasteering has become very big recently.
The coastal path is easily accessable with walks to Rock, Port Isaac and beyond!
